人類社會所經歷的事件和行動，透過紀錄、研究和詮釋，成為建構當代社會的歷史。國立臺灣歷史博物館於2021年推出更新、增補後的常設展。展覽加入各自發聲、書寫、紀錄的個人生命史，於時代氛圍的造景中，凸顯多方觀點交錯、碰撞下，由全體人民共同生成的臺灣歷史。

展覽以拉近觀眾與歷史距離、建構展品間的連結與對話，作為核心。大量文史資料透過美術與遊戲設計，轉化為易懂的互動多媒體。觀眾隨著不同視角，看見大航海時期的臺灣，在大平洋上扮演的關鍵貿易角色。大時代下的民間軼聞，透過一篇篇的插畫，填補由官方紀載主導的歷史事件中，缺乏的地方觀點。關鍵歷史影格的串聯，勾起世代人民的共同記憶。展覽引導觀眾透過相關歷史物件、畫面、聲音，回顧自身在歷史中的模樣、思辨作為歷史書寫者的當代角色。

The events and actions experienced by human society become the building blocks of contemporary history through documentation, research, and interpretation. In 2021, the National Museum of Taiwan History launched an updated and expanded version of its permanent exhibition. This exhibition incorporates personal life histories, individually voiced, written, and recorded, highlighting the multiple perspectives that intersect and clash within the historical scenery of the time, shaping Taiwan’s history collectively by all its people.

The exhibition centers on bringing history closer to the audience and fostering connections and dialogue between the artifacts. A wealth of historical materials is transformed into easily understood interactive multimedia through artistic and game design. From different perspectives, visitors witness Taiwan’s crucial role in Pacific trade during the Age of Exploration. Folk anecdotes from turbulent times are depicted through illustrations, filling in the local viewpoints often missing from official historical records. Key historical moments are linked together, evoking shared memories across generations. The exhibition guides visitors to reflect on their place in history through related objects, images, and sounds, and to contemplate their role as contemporary contributors to the writing of history.
