Masks, across different cultures, serve various purposes in rituals, religion, ceremonies, and theater. Through the use of colors, totems, and facial features, they reflect humanity’s reverence and imagination toward their beliefs and supernatural powers. The exhibition "Masks—The Beauty of the Soul" showcases the iconic mask collection from the Musée du quai Branly in France, featuring masks from Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania, allowing visitors to witness the spiritual beauty of primal beliefs.

The exhibition design draws inspiration from the "face-changing" art of Sichuan opera. Curtains and semi-transparent veils divide the space, complemented by lighting effects to create an atmosphere of shifting masks and roles, reminiscent of a smoky, mysterious stage. Visually, the design samples colors and patterns from the exhibited masks, blending them with geometric lines and blocks to offer a contemporary viewing perspective. Spatially, two iconic pieces are highlighted on each side of the exhibition, placed in standalone display cases that allow for 360-degree viewing, providing visitors a moment to pause and appreciate the artworks.
